Project 3

As you know, CharityP2P strives to finish poverty around the Globe. Our goal is not always give out food packs and provide daily meals but to give people tools/job/skill that will help them earn and survive. This was one of the projects we did to teach disabled women in Nigeria how to earn their income and pay for their food. We hired one disabled woman who inspired us with the strength of her spirit to teach the other 5 disabled women the work she does. She is cooking sweets and sells them on the market to provide a living. CharityP2P did not pay her money for teaching other women, however we provided for her supplies worth for 1 week to continue her cooking.

This set was used for the class and left to the disabled sister who thought others how to cook:

  • A bag of flour is 11700 for 4 days
  • Vegetable oil 25kg 14000 for 5 days
  • Sugar 5000 for 5 days
  • Yeast 500 for 5 days
  • Shakarin 500 for 5 days
  • Wood 500 for 5 days

Total: 32,200 naira = $85

This sets were distributed to 5 disabled sisters who learned how to cook:

  • Four 1 day 2925
  • Oil 1 day 2800
  • Sugar 1 day 1000
  • Yeast 1 day 100
  • Shakarin 1 day 100
  • Wood 1 day 100

Total  7,025 x 5 disabled sisters =  35,125 naira

We had to rent a cab for mobilizing the borehole installation materials and items bought for disabled women 10,000 naira

Total cost: 77,325 naira = $206.69 (exchange rate $1=375)

(Wire transfer expenses not spent from donations.)
